Łowicz is a major manufacturer of jams, but not only, the offer also includes: ready-made sauces, fruit syrups or tomato purees. In 2021, vegetable pastes in four flavors have been introduced. Vegetable pastes do not contain flavor enhancers, and are created on the basis of natural ingredients. Fruit syrups have no preservatives or glucose-fructose syrup in them. In the case of ready-made sauces, the composition there is a bit weaker, because we can find extracts, flavors, thickeners or acidity regulators. Most products of the Łowicz brand are sold in glass jars. Łowicz belongs to the Maspex group. Maspex has 16 production facilities in Poland and abroad, where it has implemented the IFS quality management system. The company's website states that Maspex buys more than 300,000 tons of fruits and vegetables and 130,000 tons of grains from suppliers every year, while there is no detailed information on where exactly the raw materials come from and what part of them is grown according to organic farming guidelines. Maspex says it buys about 50% of the raw materials available in Poland from farms located within a 150-kilometer radius of the company's facilities. Maspex is taking steps to reduce its carbon footprint, including: reducing energy consumption by 15% through modern technological processes, gradually increasing the share of RES in the energy balance through the construction of photovoltaic farms, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 25% through the integration of plants with warehouses, and reducing the weight of plastic packaging by 30%. Maspex is also reducing water consumption and building its own wastewater treatment plants, thus reclaiming water. Maspex declares that by 2025 all packaging introduced by the company will be recyclable, while plastic packaging for beverages will be made from 25% recycled plastic (rPET). Maspex says in its strategy that it cares about the development of its employees, providing them with access to training and private medical care. Maspex is involved in educational campaigns and programs aimed at developing proper eating habits and not wasting food.
