Knorr is a popular brand owned by Unilever, offering products such as spices, broths, Chinese soups, ready-made sauces and pasta. By 2024, raw materials from Knorr brand products will meet animal welfare requirements, such as reducing animal densities to 30 kg/m2 without cages and tiered systems, ensuring natural lighting, perches and pecking grounds. From 2021, 90% of the palm oil present in Unilever products is RSPO certified and 100% soybean is RTRS certified. Knorr products - depending on the specific product - may contain e.g. food additives such as flavor enhancers (e.g. sodium benzoate), artificial flavors, emulsifiers and thickeners. The products are mostly sold in plastic packaging. Unilever has around 400 brands in 190 different countries and employs around 149,000 people. Due to the scale of the business, Unilever has developed its own environmental management standard based on ISO 14001. Since 2008, Unilever has reduced its global carbon footprint by two-thirds. The company has committed to reducing the amount of virgin plastic put into circulation by 50% by 2025, and to investing €1 billion by 2030 to eliminate fossil fuels from the production of cleaning and laundry products. Unilever has committed that by 2030 all the company's suppliers will receive at least a living wage. Unilever has been present in Poland since 1991, when a cosmetics factory was opened in Bydgoszcz. It currently employs nearly 3,000 people nationwide. Unilever strongly focuses on the mental health of its employees. Knorr brand and WWF in cooperation with dr. Adam Drewnowski, Director of the Center for Nutrition for Public Health at the University of Washington, created a list of 50 Plants of the Future, thus promoting healthy eating.
