Bershka is a chain brand belonging to the Inditex group. The offer includes everyday clothes, mainly for young people. Part of the collection contains the "Join Life" label, which means that the clothes were made of more responsible materials, such as recycled fabrics, cellulose fibers or BCI cotton. However, it is a small part of the total production. It is worth checking the labels and percentage content of specific raw materials. Around 91% of the paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, metal and textile waste generated at Inditex's headquarters, logistics centers and own factories is reused and recycled through internal loops, thus minimizing the use of virgin raw materials. The brand has committed itself to becoming climate neutral by 2040. Bershka has an ISO 45001 management system. Bershka is an extensive chain, operating on different continents, employing thousands of employees. Unfortunately, the company is not transparent enough and has not published its list of suppliers located in countries such as: Bangladesh, China, Turkey, India, Portugal. Bershka is making some efforts to improve employment conditions in its supply chain. The company conducts social audits in subcontractor factories in accordance with the standards of the Ethical Trading Initiative and communicates their results and what corrective actions it takes. Inditex has signed the ACCORD agreement on fire safety of factory buildings in Bangladesh.
