Continental produces blank t-shirts and jackets used for promotional purposes by various organisations and institutions. Their clothes are mostly made from organic cotton and environmentally friendly threads of bamboo and lyocell. The factories in which Continental clothes are made comply with strict requirements of the GOTS environmental certification. All their clothes are also Oeko-Tex 100 certified which guarantees that they are safe for the customers. In 2008 Continental became the first clothing company in the world to estimate their carbon footprint. It is also the first brand to display on their clothes the Carbon Reduction label created by the Carbon Trust, an independent organisation encouraging the reduction of carbon pollution. Following the guidelines of the Environmental Justice Foundation, Continental do not import cotton from Uzbekistan where child labour is used extensively for its production. The company is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation which guarantees fair working conditions in clothes factories and living wages for the employees. Being committed to transparency, Continental allows its customers to follow the supply chain of its products, making the information available on request.
