Jack Wolfskin is a German brand of clothing and tourist equipment. The company is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation that aims at improving employment conditions of people working in the clothing industry supply chains. Jack Wolfskin commissions regular audits of the factories belonging to its subcontractors and the results are published in the brand’s annual reports available on its website. Jack Wolfskin has committed to gradually introduce a living wage for all the workers employed to manufacture products with the brand’s logo. At the moment, the biggest issue in the supply chain remains the excessive overtime and low wages but the company is gradually implementing good practices. The materials used by Jack Wolfskin are leather, pesticide-free organic cotton, goose down from geese which are not force-fed, and synthetic fabrics. Jack Wolfskin is also striving for the reduction of its carbon footprint, purchasing energy from renewable sources and planting trees with the Prima Klima Foundation.
