Żywiec Zdrój is a brand owned by Danone, in which you will find bottled water, also available in flavors. Żywiec Zdrój spring water is extracted from areas located in the buffer zone of the Żywiecki Landscape Park from the Pilsko intake in Jeleśnia. It is low sodium water. For bottling, the company takes an amount of water that is considered a surplus in the water balance. Żywiec Zdrój water is sold in recyclable plastic packaging. The brand has launched four bottles made of recycled PET (one of them is fully transparent - without a label), and is also running projects optimizing the use of plastic in its packaging. Some of the brand's drinks are sold in glass bottles or aluminum cans. Every year, Żywiec Zdrój collects and recycles the same amount of plastic as it puts on the market. Other brands belonging to the Danone company include: Activia, Danio, Danonki, Alpro, Actimel, Fantasia, Ale Pitny, Bebiko, Bebilon, BoboVita. In 2020, Danone joined the Polish Plastics Pact. As part of it, the company has committed itself to reducing by 30% plastics in packaging placed on the market by 2025, 100% of packaging will be reusable or recyclable, and will increase the share of secondary raw materials in plastic packaging to 25%. Danone products are exported to over 120 countries. 100% of the electricity in the plants and warehouses comes from renewable sources. Danone has committed to becoming climate neutral by 2050. In its production plants, it implements solutions to effectively manage the impact on the environment (e.g. through modernization of sewage treatment plants or investments in photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, intelligent LED lighting, etc.). The Danone team in Poland consists of over 3,000. employees who work in two offices in Warsaw and in 7 production plants. The company is involved in various social and charity initiatives. As part of the "On Nature's Side" programme, it planted over 8 million trees, renovated 1,350 km of tourist trails and supported 133 local environmental initiatives. Twice a year, Danone organizes an internal grant competition in which employees submit their social projects to receive funding for their implementation. In 2020, Danone donated around 350 tonnes of food to Food Banks.
