Nivea is one of the biggest skincare brands in the world. Nivea has a line of MagicBAR cosmetics containing more natural raw materials certified by Ecocert Cosmos Natural, but this is a negligible percentage of its products. Raw materials used in the production of cosmetics include: palm oil, which the company draws in 100% from certified sources (RSPO certificate). Shea butter comes from Africa, where the company supports women in its sustainable sourcing. The paper used by the company is FSC certified. Nivea cosmetics and care products also contain a lot of substances that do not enjoy a good reputation, such as: SLES, allergenic fragrance ingredients, parabens, phenoxyethanol, BHT preservative, etc. The brand has committed to reducing overall emissions by 30% by 2025 compared to 2018 and that by 2025, 30% of the materials contained in plastic packaging will come from recycling. Nivea belongs to the German concern Beiersdorf. According to a report published by the company, tests have begun in the UK for the introduction of refillable packaging for cosmetics. The company cooperates with NGOs Plan International and CARE, implementing "Empowering Girls" projects in Africa and Latin America.
