Dove is a well-known manufacturer of skin care cosmetics, which sells its products throughout Europe, and imports raw materials from various parts of the world. The Dove brand belongs to the Unilever group. About 68% of Unilever's agricultural raw materials come from sustainable sources, including 95% of RSPO-certified palm oil, 96% of FSC or PEFC-certified paper, and 100% of RTRS-certified soybeans. Dove products are PETA certified. Unfortunately, Dove cosmetics and care products also contain a lot of substances that do not enjoy a good reputation, such as: SLS and SLES, mineral oils, parabens, BHT preservative, etc. The Dove brand is switching to 100% recycled bottles. Unilever has been present in Poland since 1991, when a cosmetics factory was opened in Bydgoszcz. It currently employs nearly 3,000 people nationwide. Products from factories in Poznań, Bydgoszcz and Banin near Gdańsk go to the domestic market, but also to dozens of countries in Europe and around the world, including e.g. to Germany, France, Hungary, the Netherlands, as well as to Australia, Argentina, Brazil, the USA and Canada. Unilever has committed to reducing the amount of virgin plastic put into circulation by 50% by 2025, and to investing €1 billion by 2030 to eliminate fossil fuels from the production of cleaning and laundry products. In 2021, the company managed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 64% compared to 2015. Plants in the USA and Germany use 100% renewable energy from wind and solar sources, and the plant in Indonesia is switching to sustainable biomass. Dove launched the "Beauty Without a Filter" campaign, where they help women and teens build a positive attitude towards their own body, in relation to social media.
