Alterra is Rossmann’s brand of natural cosmetics. Nearly all the products of this brand are certified with a German certificate, BDIH, which ensures that 95% of the ingredients used are natural – plant, mineral or animal-derived but not from dead animals. Some of the plant ingredients come from organic farming – it’s all on the label. What is more, the cosmetics contain no petroleum-derived mineral oils, synthetic dyes and aromatic substances, parabens, formaldehyde, silicones or GMO. The packaging of Alterra’s products is made of PVC-free plastic or cardboard certified with a sustainable forest management certificate. Some of the cosmetics are labelled with Vegan Society’s trademark which means they were not animal-tested and do not contain animal-derived ingredients. Alterra offers facial care, body care and hair care products. Rossmann implements various solutions to reduce the carbon footprint, such as improved logistics, the use of biofuels and geothermal energy. Rossmann is involved in many aid activities. In Poland, he initiated the "We help as we can" campaign and supports the operation of the Blue Line.
